Being a Councillor
I was very proud to be elected a Ward Councillor for Plaistow, in the London Borough of Bromley in May 2022.
I enjoy being out in the ward almost every day, dealing with casework and chatting to the residents and business owners I represent. I am very proud of the reputation I have in the ward of being someone who is approachable, friendly and efficient in returning calls and enquiries.
I believe I bring a lifetime of experiences to the role and I understand the day-to-day pressures on residents, such as the cost of living and juggling work with family life and commitments. My experiences have made me resilient, empathetic and able to adapt quickly to challenges, which helps me deal with my heavy Councillor casework load.
It’s important to me to provide time for residents to talk through their problems and issues so I hold monthly surgeries at Burnt Ash Library on Saturday mornings. I can also be contacted on email at alisa@alisaigoe.com.
I post frequently about the work I do on my Facebook and X accounts, from photos of my attendance at local events through to showing the fly-tipped waste I’ve just posted on Fix My Street! I believe residents want to see a record of the work Councillors undertake on their behalf, and you will frequently see me out in the ward taking photos and selfies for my social media platforms.
